The method

English comes alive on stage, not just in a notebook

Real-life situations put students in genuine conversations: they have to understand, answer, react and convince. Emotion and movement anchor vocabulary far better than a list learnt by heart.

How a lesson works

Talk Show — the art of conversation

The video call becomes a TV set: the students take turns as hosts, guests and audience of a live talk show. With nothing learned by heart, they learn to keep a real conversation alive: asking, following up, reacting, bouncing back.

Objectives

  • Ask open questions and follow up to keep the talk going.
  • React naturally and buy time without switching to French.
  • Play a part without a script and adapt to the unexpected.
  1. 10 min

    Two Truths and a Lie

    Everyone says three sentences about themselves, one of them false. To find the lie, the others must first ask a question.

  2. 15 min

    Conversation toolkit

    Open questions, follow-ups (Tell me more!), reactions (No way!) and thinking words (Well…), then one-minute mini-conversations in pairs.

  3. 22 min

    The Talk Show

    A host interviews a guest drawn at random: astronaut, chef, YouTuber… The audience reacts and asks the last question. Roles rotate.

  4. 15 min

    Plot twist

    In the middle of the interview, a surprise card: the guest is lying, very shy, the show ends in 30 seconds… Everyone improvises, in English.

  5. 13 min

    Keep it going!

    A one-minute conversation with the teacher, with at least two follow-ups and two reactions. Positive feedback for everyone.
